Des de la primera detecci\u00f3 d\u2019un exoplaneta al 1994, s\u2019han anat posant en pr\u00e0ctica diversos m\u00e8todes per descobrir exoplanetes. A causa de les enormes dificultats per observar planetes directament, quasi totes les deteccions d\u2019exoplanetes s\u2019han efectuat mitjan\u00e7ant m\u00e8todes de detecci\u00f3 indirectes, observant els efectes que t\u00e9 el planeta en la seva estrella.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Un d\u2019aquests m\u00e8todes \u00e9s la velocitat radial, tamb\u00e9 conegut com espectrosc\u00f2pia Doppler. Dels m\u00e9s de 5.000 planetes descoberts, quasi 1.000 d\u2019aquests s\u2019han descobert mitjan\u00e7ant aquesta t\u00e8cnica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em><u><strong>En qu\u00e8 consisteix el m\u00e8tode de la velocitat radial?<\/strong><\/u><\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Quan un planeta orbita al voltant d\u2019una estrella, aquest t\u00e9 una influ\u00e8ncia gravitat\u00f2ria sobre l\u2019astre. Aix\u00f2 fa que els dos cossos orbitin al voltant d\u2019un centre de gravetat com\u00fa. Al girar al voltant d\u2019aquest punt, des de la Terra observem que l\u2019estrella s\u2019apropa i s\u2019allunya de nosaltres en per\u00edodes de temps regulars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Aquest vaiv\u00e9 de l\u2019estrella t\u00e9 un efecte sobre la llum que emet. Quan l\u2019astre s\u2019allunya de nosaltres, la llum que emet \u00abs\u2019estira\u00bb, pel que perd energia i se situa m\u00e9s a prop de la part vermella de l\u2019<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cosmoespai.com\/cat\/que-es-lespectre-electromagnetic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">espectre electromagn\u00e8tic<\/a><\/strong>. En canvi, quan l\u2019estrella s\u2019apropa cap a nosaltres, la llum que emet es \u00abcomprimeix\u00bb, guanyant d\u2019aquesta manera energia, i situant-se cap a la part blava de l\u2019espectre. Quan l&#8217;estrella s&#8217;allunya de nosaltres, la seva llum tendeix al vermell. En canvi, quan s&#8217;apropa a nosaltres la seva llum es torna m\u00e9s blava.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">A partir de la velocitat a la que es mou l\u2019estrella, els astr\u00f2noms s\u00f3n capa\u00e7os de deduir la pres\u00e8ncia d\u2019un planeta o d\u2019un sistema de planetes. Com m\u00e9s pronunciat sigui l\u2019efecte Doppler, m\u00e9s massiu \u00e9s el planeta que l\u2019orbita, i inversament. Cal remarcar que si al voltant d\u2019una estrella no hi ha cap planeta no veur\u00edem cap efecte en la seva llum, ja que l\u2019estrella es mantindria imm\u00f2bil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Fins al 2012, la velocitat radial era el m\u00e8tode m\u00e9s efectiu per detectar exoplanetes, per\u00f2 ha estat reempla\u00e7ada pel m\u00e8tode del <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cosmoespai.com\/cat\/el-metode-del-transit-la-millor-manera-per-descobrir-exoplanetes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tr\u00e0nsit d\u2019exoplanetes<\/a><\/strong>.
