Observant joves estrelles en diferents etapes de la seva vida, i estudiant amb profunditat l\u2019estructura del nostre sistema solar, hem pogut desenvolupar una teoria per explicar la formaci\u00f3 dels planetes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em><u><strong>Un dic de gas al voltant de l\u2019estrella<\/strong><\/u><\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Les estrelles provenen d\u2019enormes n\u00favols de gas (anomenats nebuloses) que es condensen fins al punt en que es desencadenen fusions d\u2019\u00e0toms en el seu centre, que generen una gran quantitat d\u2019energia. A l\u2019orbitar l\u2019estrella, el gas existent acaba per aplanar-se, formant un disc al voltant de l\u2019astre. Aquest disc s\u2019anomena disc protoplanetari.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">A m\u00e9s d\u2019hidrogen i heli (els dos elements principals que formen l\u2019estrella) el disc protoplanetari tamb\u00e9 cont\u00e9 petites quantitats d\u2019altres element qu\u00edmics, formats i alliberats per generacions anteriors d\u2019estrelles. A mesura que l\u2019estrella creix, va absorbint la majoria del material, acumulant un 99% de la massa del sistema, deixant l\u20191% restant al disc que l\u2019envolta. \u00c9s a partir d\u2019aquest disc que apareixeran tots els planetes de l\u2019estrella.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">El proc\u00e9s de creaci\u00f3 de planetes comen\u00e7a a partir de part\u00edcules de pols i roca diminutes que s\u2019ajunten, formant fragments de roca cada cop m\u00e9s grans. Aquests fragments col\u00b7lisionen llavors contra d\u2019altres, donant com a resultat roques m\u00e9s i m\u00e9s grans. Finalment apareixeran el que anomenem planetesimals (cossos de m\u00e9s de 10 kil\u00f2metres de di\u00e0metre) que competiran entre ells per convertir-se en planetes. Aquest proc\u00e9s de creixement per agregaci\u00f3 es coneix com acreci\u00f3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">D\u2019altra banda, a les parts m\u00e9s exteriors del disc apareixen els planetes gasosos, generalment molt m\u00e9s grans que els rocosos. Tot i que no se sap amb certesa perqu\u00e8 aquest tipus de planetes es formen lluny de l\u2019estrella, una teoria planteja que el vent solar, un continu corrent de part\u00edcules altament energ\u00e8tiques provinents de l\u2019estrella, expulsa els elements m\u00e9s lleugers (com hidrogen i heli) cap a les \u00f2rbites m\u00e9s exteriors. Quan arriben en aquesta part del sistema, la gravetat dels planetes en formaci\u00f3 \u00e9s capa\u00e7 d\u2019atreure tot aquest gas cap a ells.
