A prop de les estrelles, la temperatura \u00e9s molt elevada, per\u00f2 aix\u00f2 canvia r\u00e0pidament a mesura que ens allunyem d\u2019aquestes. A l\u2019espai interestel\u00b7lar, les temperatures s\u2019apropen al zero absolut (0 graus Kelvin = -273,15\u00baC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em><u><strong>Per qu\u00e8 la temperatura \u00e9s tan baixa?<\/strong><\/u><\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">La temperatura d\u2019un cos prov\u00e9 del moviment i de les col\u00b7lisions de les part\u00edcules que el formen o interaccionen amb ell. En aquestes col\u00b7lisions de part\u00edcules es transfereix l\u2019energia de part\u00edcula a part\u00edcula, provocant que el cos en q\u00fcesti\u00f3 s\u2019escalfi. Per exemple, a la Terra, les part\u00edcules que formen l\u2019atmosfera no es mouen gaire r\u00e0pid (no contenen gaire energia), per\u00f2 com el seu n\u00famero \u00e9s molt elevat, i, per tant, hi ha moltes col\u00b7lisions entre elles, aix\u00f2 fa que el planeta es mantingui calent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">En canvi, a l\u2019espai, el nombre de part\u00edcules \u00e9s molt redu\u00eft, de l\u2019ordre de 1 \u00e0tom per varis metres c\u00fabics. Aix\u00f2 comporta que els \u00e0toms, encara que portin molta energia, no la poden transferir a altres \u00e0toms,i, per tant, fa que la temperatura sigui molt baixa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em><u><strong>La temperatura de l\u2019espai exterior<\/strong><\/u><\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">L\u2019univers \u00e9s enorme, i les temperatures entre diferents regions de l\u2019espai poden variar enormement. Les estrelles o qu\u00e0sars s\u00f3n llocs incre\u00efblement calents, per\u00f2, quina temperatura hi ha al buit de l\u2019espai?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Com hem explicat anteriorment, a l\u2019espai exterior, la calor no es pot transferir mitjan\u00e7ant els processos de conducci\u00f3 i convecci\u00f3 (ja que no hi ha mat\u00e8ria). A l\u2019espai la calor nom\u00e9s pot ser transferida en forma de radiaci\u00f3 electromagn\u00e8tica (llum).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">La radiaci\u00f3 c\u00f2smica de microones \u00e9s el romanent de l\u2019explosi\u00f3 m\u00e9s gran de la hist\u00f2ria de l\u2019univers: el Big Bang. Els fotons de l\u2019esdeveniment que va marcar l\u2019inici de l\u2019espai i el temps, encara viatgen a trav\u00e9s de l\u2019univers, i marquen la temperatura m\u00ednima que podem trobar a l\u2019espai exterior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">La temperatura del fons c\u00f2smic de microones, i per tant del buit de l\u2019espai, \u00e9s de 2,73 graus Kelvin (-270,42\u00baC). No obstant, l\u2019univers no sempre ha estat tant fred. En efecte, la temperatura inicial del fons c\u00f2smic de microones era d\u2019uns 3 000 graus Kelvin.
