Schr\u00f6dinger va ser un fam\u00f3s f\u00edsic te\u00f2ric que va ser Premi Nobel de f\u00edsica l\u2019any 1933, per la famosa equaci\u00f3 que porta el seu nom: Equaci\u00f3 de Schr\u00f6dinger. Aquesta equaci\u00f3 plantejava l\u2019evoluci\u00f3 d\u2019una part\u00edcula subat\u00f2mica de naturalesa ondulat\u00f2ria i no relativista.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aquesta equaci\u00f3 \u00e9s m\u00e9s coneguda popularment com \u00abEl gat de Schr\u00f6dinger\u00bb, que \u00e9s un experiment mental que Schr\u00f6dinger va dur a terme i que ens permet entendre certs aspectes de la mec\u00e0nica qu\u00e0ntica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Amb aquest experiment mental, Schr\u00f6dinger ens intenta explicar el funcionament de la mec\u00e0nica qu\u00e0ntica, que pot ser molt estrany en certs aspectes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019experiment \u00e9s aquest: dins d\u2019una caixa hi ha un gat, un flasc\u00f3 amb un gas verin\u00f3s, un dispositiu que cont\u00e9 una part\u00edcula radioactiva, i un martell. Durant una hora, la part\u00edcula radioactiva t\u00e9 un 50% de probabilitats de desintegrar-se, i les mateixes probabilitats que no es desintegri. Si es desintegra, posar\u00e0 en marxa un sistema que far\u00e0 caure el martell, que trencar\u00e0 el flasc\u00f3 que cont\u00e9 el gas verin\u00f3s, i el gat morir\u00e0. Si la part\u00edcula no es desintegra, no posar\u00e0 en marxa cap sistema, tot quedar\u00e0 igual que al principi de l\u2019experiment, i, per tant, el gat sobreviur\u00e0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Al cap d\u2019una hora, s\u2019hagi desintegrat o no la part\u00edcula radioactiva, hi ha el 50% de possibilitats que el gat estigui viu i l\u2019altre 50% que no ho estigui. Abans d\u2019obrir la caixa, nosaltres pensem que el gat est\u00e0 definitivament, o viu, o mort. Per\u00f2, des del punt de vista de la mec\u00e0nica qu\u00e0ntica, la definici\u00f3 correcta, en aquell moment, de la funci\u00f3 d\u2019ona del gat (\u00e9s a dir, del seu estat), \u00e9s que est\u00e0 viu i mort a la vegada. Aquest fenomen s\u2019anomena superposici\u00f3, i \u00e9s refereix, en aquest cas, a la superposici\u00f3 dels estats viu i mort. Aix\u00ed doncs, des del punt de vista de la mec\u00e0nica qu\u00e0ntica, cada objecte est\u00e0 en tots els estats al mateix temps, o pren totes les decisions al mateix temps. Aix\u00f2 s\u2019explica gr\u00e0cies a que sabem que els electrons poden estar a dos llocs al mateix temps, podent ser detectats pels dos receptors i donant a entendre que el gat est\u00e0 viu i mort a la vegada. \u00c9s a dir, fins que no obrim la caixa, el gat \u00e9s viu i mort alhora, per\u00f2, \u00e9s quan un observador interv\u00e9 que nom\u00e9s quedar\u00e0 una opci\u00f3, a l\u2019haver pertorbat la funci\u00f3 d\u2019ona, i nom\u00e9s quedar\u00e0 una de les dues opcions, \u00e9s a dir, viu, o mort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En una visualitzaci\u00f3 cl\u00e0ssica, el gat est\u00e0 o viu o mort abans d\u2019obrir la caixa, el que passa \u00e9s que nosaltres no ho sabem. En canvi, en la descripci\u00f3 qu\u00e0ntica, el gat es troba en una superposici\u00f3 dels estats viu i mort, fins que interv\u00e9 un observador.
