Va ser un dels descobriments f\u00edsics m\u00e9s excitants del segle XX. Tot i que molta gent creu que aquest tipus de mat\u00e8ria \u00e9s cosa de ci\u00e8ncia-ficci\u00f3, cada dia es produeix antimat\u00e8ria a la Terra. No obstant, per entendre b\u00e9 qu\u00e8 \u00e9s l\u2019antimat\u00e8ria, primer hem d\u2019entendre qu\u00e8 \u00e9s la mat\u00e8ria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em><u><strong>Composici\u00f3 de la mat\u00e8ria<\/strong><\/u><\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Els \u00e0toms que existeixen al nostre univers estan formats per una varietat de part\u00edcules (electrons, quarks dalt i quarks baix). Agrupant-se de diferents maneres i quantitats, aquestes part\u00edcules fonamentals (no es podem dividir en m\u00e9s part\u00edcules) poden formar diferents elements qu\u00edmics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Per exemple, l\u2019hidrogen, l\u2019element m\u00e9s simple de tots, est\u00e0 format per un prot\u00f3 (format per dos quarks dalt i un quark baix) i un electr\u00f3 al voltant. En canvi, l\u2019heli est\u00e0 format per dos protons, dos neutrons (formats per dos quarks baix i un quark dalt) i dos electrons orbitant-los.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em><u><strong>Qu\u00e8 \u00e9s l\u2019antimat\u00e8ria<\/strong><\/u><\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Si la mat\u00e8ria est\u00e0 formada per part\u00edcules, l\u2019antimat\u00e8ria est\u00e0 formada per antipart\u00edcules. Com veurem posteriorment, aquestes antipart\u00edcules van ser predites pel f\u00edsic brit\u00e0nic Paul Dirac, i tenen la caracter\u00edstica de tenir una c\u00e0rrega el\u00e8ctrica contr\u00e0ria a la que tenen les part\u00edcules \u00abnormals\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Cada part\u00edcula de mat\u00e8ria (com l\u2019electr\u00f3) t\u00e9 una antipart\u00edcula associada. En el cas de l\u2019electr\u00f3, que t\u00e9 una c\u00e0rrega negativa, la seva antipart\u00edcula s\u2019anomena positr\u00f3 (de c\u00e0rrega el\u00e8ctrica positiva). A m\u00e9s, quan una antipart\u00edcula entra en contacte amb una part\u00edcula, s\u2019aniquilen entre elles, convertint el 100% de la seva massa en energia pura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">\u00c9s per aquest motiu que l\u2019antimat\u00e8ria no \u00e9s gaire abundant al nostre univers, ja que, en q\u00fcesti\u00f3 d\u2019instants, entra en contacte amb la mat\u00e8ria i desapareix, deixant en el proc\u00e9s un rastre d\u2019energia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em><u><strong>On es crea l\u2019antimat\u00e8ria<\/strong><\/u><\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Com he dit abans, cada dia es crea antimat\u00e8ria a la Terra, aix\u00ed com en molts altres llocs de l\u2019univers. Per exemple, un pl\u00e0tan produeix un positr\u00f3 cada 75 minuts, hi ha evid\u00e8ncies que en tempestes el\u00e8ctriques tamb\u00e9 es creen positrons, i tamb\u00e9 es creen antipart\u00edcules quan els rajos c\u00f2smics impacten contra l\u2019atmosfera terrestre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Com veiem, l\u2019antimat\u00e8ria es pot formar de manera natural. No obstant, gr\u00e0cies als aven\u00e7os tecnol\u00f2gics dels \u00faltims anys, els f\u00edsics han estat capa\u00e7os de produir antipart\u00edcules, i fins i tot anti-\u00e0toms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">El Gran Col\u00b7lisionador d\u2019Hadrons (LHC per les seves sigles en angl\u00e8s) ha produ\u00eft antipart\u00edcules en col\u00b7lisions a velocitats pr\u00f2ximes a la de la llum. A m\u00e9s, tamb\u00e9 s\u2019han produ\u00eft \u00e0toms d\u2019antihidrogen (un positr\u00f3 orbitant un antiprot\u00f3).
