Fa milers de milions d\u2019anys, l\u2019atmosfera de Mart era suficientment densa com per permetre que l\u2019aigua l\u00edquida flu\u00eds per la seva superf\u00edcie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">No obstant, la seva atmosfera es va anar degradant, provocant la desaparici\u00f3 de l\u2019aigua a la seva superf\u00edcie. Avui en dia, l\u2019atmosfera de Mart \u00e9s 100 cops menys densa que la de la Terra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em><u><strong>La seva composici\u00f3<\/strong><\/u><\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">L\u2019atmosfera de Mart \u00e9s tan fina que es podria considerar inexistent (com a l\u2019espai exterior). En conseq\u00fc\u00e8ncia, una persona sense vestit espacial no podria caminar per la superf\u00edcie marciana sense morir en l\u2019intent. Per\u00f2, a part d\u2019aquest perill, l\u2019atmosfera del planeta vermell tamb\u00e9 \u00e9s irrespirable per als humans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">L\u2019atmosfera terrestre est\u00e0 formada per un 78% de nitrogen, un 21% d\u2019oxigen, i altres petits percentatges d\u2019altres elements (0,04% de di\u00f2xid de carboni&#8230;).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">En canvi, a Mart, el contingut a l\u2019atmosfera de di\u00f2xid de carboni \u00e9s d\u2019un 95%. Els altres dos gasos m\u00e9s comuns a la seva atmosfera s\u00f3n el nitrogen i l\u2019arg\u00f3, amb un 2,7% i un 1,6% respectivament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">A m\u00e9s dels gasos ja mencionats, tamb\u00e9 s\u2019hi troben petites quantitats d\u2019oxigen (formant un 0,13% de l\u2019atmosfera) i mon\u00f2xid de carboni (0,008%). Tamb\u00e9 hi ha diminutes quantitats de vapor d\u2019aigua, ne\u00f3, \u00f2xid n\u00edtric, cript\u00f3, xen\u00f3, oz\u00f3 i met\u00e0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em><u><strong>\u00das potencial per als humans<\/strong><\/u><\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">L\u2019atmosfera \u00e9s un recurs del qual en sabem la composici\u00f3, i que est\u00e0 disponible a qualsevol lloc d\u2019aterratge. Les primeres col\u00f2nies humanes a Mart podrien aprofitar l\u2019atmosfera per diversos prop\u00f2sits:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Un dels possibles usos que es podria donar a l\u2019atmosfera de Mart \u00e9s la fabricaci\u00f3 de combustible dels coets a partir del di\u00f2xid de carboni (CO<sub>2<\/sub>), com proposa, entre altres, Robert Zubrin, amb el seu pla de colonitzaci\u00f3 de Mart anomenat \u00abMars Direct\u00bb. Aix\u00f2 es podria fer mitjan\u00e7ant la reacci\u00f3 de Sabatier, que converteix el di\u00f2xid de carboni, junt amb hidrogen addicional, per produir met\u00e0 (CH<sub>4<\/sub>) i oxigen, que s\u00f3n dos molt bons combustibles per a coets.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>A m\u00e9s, tamb\u00e9 es podrien extreure de l\u2019atmosfera petites quantitats d\u2019altres gasos, per abastir diversos processos de construcci\u00f3. Una altra opci\u00f3 \u00e9s extreure nitrogen present a l\u2019atmosfera per crear una atmosfera respirable, similar a la de la Terra, dins la col\u00f2nia marciana.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em><u><strong>Evoluci\u00f3 de l\u2019atmosfera marciana<\/strong><\/u><\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Com he explicat anteriorment, fa milers de milions d\u2019anys, l\u2019atmosfera de Mart era molt m\u00e9s densa del que ho \u00e9s avui en dia, permetent l\u2019exist\u00e8ncia d\u2019aigua l\u00edquida, i d\u2019enormes oceans, a la seva superf\u00edcie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">No obstant, per algun motiu, l\u2019atmosfera marciana va anar perdent el seu contingut a l\u2019espai. Aquestes s\u00f3n tres possibles causes que podrien explicar aquest fenomen:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>L\u2019erosi\u00f3 gradual de l\u2019atmosfera de Mart pel vent solar. Com s\u2019ha demostrat, l\u2019erosi\u00f3 de l\u2019atmosfera s\u2019incrementa durant les erupcions solars. A m\u00e9s, la manca de camp magn\u00e8tic a Mart no ofereix protecci\u00f3 contra aquest problema.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Una altra possible causa per a la p\u00e8rdua d\u2019atmosfera, \u00e9s la col\u00b7lisi\u00f3 catastr\u00f2fica d\u2019un cos suficientment gran per fer desapar\u00e8ixer un percentatge significatiu de l\u2019atmosfera de Mart.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Tamb\u00e9 es creu que la interacci\u00f3 del vent solar amb els camps electromagn\u00e8tics del planeta, fa molt temps, van poder causar l\u2019eliminaci\u00f3 de l\u2019atmosfera.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr
