T\u00e9 n\u00famero at\u00f2mic tres, \u00e9s a dir, t\u00e9 un nucli amb 3 protons (i neutrons), amb tres electrons orbitant-los. El liti \u00e9s un element altament inflamable, t\u00f2xic (excepte en petites quantitats), i inodor. Una particularitat d\u2019aquest metall \u00e9s que \u00e9s altament reactiu amb l\u2019aigua. T\u00e9 un color blanc platejat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">En condicions est\u00e0ndard, aquest element \u00e9s el metall i s\u00f2lid m\u00e9s lleuger, i \u00e9s un bon conductor de l\u2019escalfor i de l\u2019electricitat. El liti \u00e9s un dels sis metalls alcalins, i es pot tallar amb un ganivet. En comparaci\u00f3 a altres metalls, el liti t\u00e9 un punt de fusi\u00f3 baix (180\u00baC), per\u00f2 t\u00e9 el punt de fusi\u00f3 i d\u2019ebullici\u00f3 (1330\u00baC) m\u00e9s alt de tots els metalls alcalins. Exposat a temperatures extremadament baixes, el liti esdev\u00e9 un material superconductor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">El liti \u00e9s un element altament reactiu i corrosiu. En contacte amb la pell pot provocar cremades i butllofes. A m\u00e9s, una exposici\u00f3 prolongada al liti pot provocar danys als pulmons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em><u><strong>Abund\u00e0ncia i formaci\u00f3<\/strong><\/u><\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">A causa de la seva alta reactivitat, el liti no existeix de manera lliure a la natura. Normalment trobem aquest material dins de mol\u00e8cules de minerals diversos. El liti constitueix aproximadament el 0,002% del mantell terrestre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">En el moment del Big Bang es va produir una petita part dels elements qu\u00edmics que coneixem en els nostres dies. Majorit\u00e0riament es va produir <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cosmoespai.com\/cat\/2021\/10\/17\/lhidrogen-caracteristiques-abundancia-isotops-i-usos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">hidrogen<\/a><\/strong> i <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cosmoespai.com\/cat\/2021\/10\/22\/lheli-caracteristiques-formacio-historia-usos-i-isotops\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">heli<\/a><\/strong>, que representaven m\u00e9s del 99% dels elements que es van produir. Tot i aix\u00ed, el seg\u00fcent element que es va produir en el moment del Big Bang va ser el liti. Per tant, la majoria del liti que existeix avui en dia a l\u2019univers prov\u00e9 dels primers instants de la formaci\u00f3 d\u2019aquest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em><u><strong>Descoberta i hist\u00f2ria<\/strong><\/u><\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">El liti es va descobrir al 1817 pel qu\u00edmic suec Johan August Arfvedson, a partir d\u2019un mineral anomenat petalita. Tot i aix\u00ed, no va ser fins al cap de 4 anys que aquest element va poder ser isolat de formar pura per William Thomas Brande, a trav\u00e9s del proc\u00e9s d\u2019electr\u00f2lisi de l\u2019\u00f2xid de liti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">El nom de liti prov\u00e9 de la paraula grega <em>\u00ablithos\u00bb<\/em>, que significa pedra. Aix\u00f2 es deu a que aquest metall es va descobrir en una roca, en comparaci\u00f3 a altres metalls com el potassi i el sodi, que es van descobrir en plantes i animals, respectivament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em><u><strong>Usos d\u2019aquest element<\/strong><\/u><\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">El liti \u00e9s un material que t\u00e9 una gran varietat d\u2019usos i aplicacions comercials. Un dels usos m\u00e9s amplis que es dona a aquest material \u00e9s el de la producci\u00f3 de bateries per una gran varietat de dispositius. Aquestes bateries s\u00f3n recarregables i tenen una gran densitat d\u2019energia. Alguns dels altres usos del liti s\u00f3n els seg\u00fcents:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>El liti s\u2019utilitza molt en la producci\u00f3 de vidres i cer\u00e0mica d\u2019alta qualitat<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Aquest element tamb\u00e9 s\u2019utilitza molt en processos de metal\u00b7l\u00fargia, per exemple en la fabricaci\u00f3 d\u2019aliatges de diferents metalls. Aix\u00f2 els fa m\u00e9s resistents i lleugers.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>El clorur de liti \u00e9s un dels materials m\u00e9s higrosc\u00f2pics (t\u00e9 la capacitat d\u2019absorbir la humitat de l\u2019aire) coneguts, i s\u2019utilitza en sistemes d\u2019assecatge d\u2019aire condicionat i industrial.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>El liti-6 s\u2019utilitza en la producci\u00f3 de triti i com a un absorbent de neutrons en reaccions de fusi\u00f3.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Les sals de liti s\u2019utilitzen per tractar diversos trastorns mentals, incloent trastorn bipolar, depressi\u00f3 i trastorn esquizoafectiu, tot i que les seves conseq\u00fc\u00e8ncies en el cervell no estan del tot enteses.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em><u><strong>Els seus is\u00f2tops<\/strong><\/u><\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Un is\u00f2top \u00e9s un \u00e0tom que t\u00e9 un nombre diferent d\u2019electrons en comparaci\u00f3 a la seva composici\u00f3 inicial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">El liti t\u00e9 11 is\u00f2tops coneguts, dels quals nom\u00e9s dos s\u00f3n estables: el liti-6 (<sup>6<\/sup>Li) i el liti-7 (<sup>7<\/sup>Li). Aquests dos is\u00f2tops tenen una abund\u00e0ncia natural de 7,9% i 92,41%, respectivament. La resta d\u2019is\u00f2tops s\u2019han format artificialment, s\u00f3n extremadament inestables i es desintegren en per\u00edodes de temps extremadament petits.
