Aquesta p\u00e8rdua de massa est\u00e0 causada per diversos factors, cada un d\u2019ells amb diferent grau d\u2019intensitat. Tot i aix\u00ed, el planeta tamb\u00e9 guanya pes cada any, per\u00f2 en una quantitat menor a la que perd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em><u><strong>La Terra guanya pes<\/strong><\/u><\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Com he dit, encara que cada any la Terra perd molta massa, tamb\u00e9 en guanya. Un dels motius d\u2019aquest augment de massa \u00e9s degut a la caiguda de material provinent de l\u2019espai, que suma 40 000 tones anuals. La major part del material provinent de l\u2019espai es crema a l\u2019entrar a l\u2019atmosfera terrestre, augmentant, d\u2019aquesta manera, el pes de l\u2019atmosfera, i, per tant, el de la Terra. Tot i aix\u00ed, cada dia aconsegueixen tocar terra uns 17 meteorits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">La Terra tamb\u00e9 guanya pes degut al canvi clim\u00e0tic. Tal com marquen les lleis de la termodin\u00e0mica, si s\u2019afegeix energia a un sistema, la massa ha de cr\u00e9ixer. El canvi clim\u00e0tic provoca l\u2019augment de la temperatura del planeta, el que comporta que augmenti la massa en 160 tones anuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Encara que pugui semblar que el fet de construir nous objectes, com televisors, vehicles o edificis afegeix una gran quantitat de massa, en realitat no \u00e9s aix\u00ed, ja que el que fem \u00e9s agafar materials de la Terra i transformar-los.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em><u><strong>La Terra s\u2019acaba aprimant<\/strong><\/u><\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Tot i guanyar grans quantitats de material a causa de diversos fen\u00f2mens, el cert \u00e9s que la Terra acaba aprimant-se. A primera vista pot semblar molt, per\u00f2 a nivell global, si ho comparem amb el pes de la Terra, \u00e9s inapreciable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">El nucli del planeta<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">El nucli del planeta fa perdre massa a la Terra. Aix\u00f2 \u00e9s degut a que converteix la massa en energia, i aquesta acaba escapant. Malgrat aix\u00f2, aquesta p\u00e8rdua de massa \u00e9s molt petita, tan sols de 16 tones cada any.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Exploraci\u00f3 espacial<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Tamb\u00e9 perdem pes a causa de l\u2019activitat humana a l\u2019espai. Cada vegada que enviem una nau a l\u2019espai, la Terra s\u2019aprima una mica. Aquests efectes s\u00f3n menyspreables, ja que molts dels components que formen les naus acaben per tornar a entrar a la Terra. D\u2019aquesta manera, es calcula que perdem el que equivaldria a un elefant adult cada tres setmanes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Encara que en els nostres dies aquesta p\u00e8rdua de massa no sigui molt important, en un futur, quan l\u2019exploraci\u00f3 espacial requereixi de m\u00e9s recursos, com per exemple una base permanent a Mart o un augment de sondes espacials, aquest efecte anir\u00e0 a m\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">P\u00e8rdua d\u2019atmosfera<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">El que fa perdre la major part del pes a la Terra, \u00e9s la p\u00e8rdua de gasos a l\u2019atmosfera, sobre tot hidrogen. Els gasos m\u00e9s lleugers, com poden ser l\u2019hidrogen (l\u2019element m\u00e9s simple de tots), i l\u2019heli, s\u2019escapen a les parts m\u00e9s altes de l\u2019atmosfera, on no hi ha tanta gravetat. En conseq\u00fc\u00e8ncia, al ser tan lleugers i estar en un lloc de menys gravetat, aquests dos gasos s\u2019escapen a l\u2019espai, provocant una p\u00e8rdua d\u2019atmosfera. Calculem que, cada segon, la Terra perd 3 kilograms d\u2019hidrogen, que, al llarg d\u2019un any, equival a unes 95 000 tones d\u2019hidrogen perdut. L\u2019heli, tot i que en quantitats m\u00e9s petites, tamb\u00e9 s\u2019escapa a l\u2019espai. Cada any perdem 1 600 tones d\u2019heli.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em><u><strong>Una massa molt petita<\/strong><\/u><\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">La Terra s\u2019aprima d\u2019unes 57 000 tones cada any. Tot i que aquesta xifra ens pot semblar una quantitat enorme, a escala terrestre no \u00e9s rellevant. En efecte, les 57 000 tones de material que perdem, representen un 0,000000000000001% de la massa terrestre.
