Tot i aix\u00ed, tamb\u00e9 hi ha estrelles que tenen unes dimensions enormes i que ocupen una superf\u00edcie molt gran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em><u><strong>Stephenson 2-18<\/strong><\/u><\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Stephenson 2-18, tamb\u00e9 coneguda com a Stephenson 2 DFK 1, \u00e9s l\u2019estrella m\u00e9s gran de l\u2019univers coneguda avui en dia. Stephenson 2-18 \u00e9s una estrella <strong>supergegant vermella<\/strong> ubicada a la constel\u00b7laci\u00f3 de Scutum. Es troba al c\u00famul obert Stephenson 2, situat a uns 6000 parsecs (20 000 anys llum) de dist\u00e0ncia respecte a la Terra. Dins d\u2019aquesta aglomeraci\u00f3 d\u2019estrelles hi ha un agrupament central de 26 supergegants, el que pot ser l\u2019aglomeraci\u00f3 jove d\u2019estrelles m\u00e9s massiva de tota la Via L\u00e0ctia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Stephenson 2-18 no \u00e9s nom\u00e9s l\u2019estrella coneguda m\u00e9s gran que existeix, sin\u00f3 que tamb\u00e9 es considera una de les estrelles de tipus supergegants vermelles m\u00e9s lluminoses de totes, amb una lluminositat d\u2019aproximadament 440 000 lluminositats solars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Amb un radi aproximat que correspondria a 2150 radis solars, aquesta estrella t\u00e9 unes dimensions tan grans que, si la pos\u00e9ssim dins del sistema solar, ella sola ocuparia tota l\u2019\u00f2rbita de Saturn, que correspon a un di\u00e0metre de 1940 a 2169 radis solars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em><u><strong>Altres estrelles de grans dimensions<\/strong><\/u><\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Stephenson 2-18 \u00e9s avui en dia, com he dit, l\u2019estrella coneguda m\u00e9s gran de l\u2019univers, per\u00f2 se\u2019n coneixien d\u2019altres, igualment de gran mida, per\u00f2 que no arriben a tenir les dimensions de Stephenson 2-18.
