Aix\u00f2 \u00e9s degut a que, la Terra, t\u00e9 una atmosfera molt m\u00e9s desenvolupada que la Lluna. Per tant, la major part de meteorits, a l\u2019entrar a la Terra, es desintegren, formant una cua lluminosa darrere seu. Aix\u00f2 \u00e9s el que anomenem estels fuga\u00e7os. Cada dia hi ha molts meteorits que es desintegren a l\u2019entrar a l\u2019atmosfera de la Terra, per\u00f2, la ra\u00f3 per la qual no veiem molts estels fuga\u00e7os, \u00e9s que la majoria de meteorits s\u00f3n tan petits que no fan prou llum per que els puguem veure nosaltres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tot el que acabo d\u2019explicar \u00e9s el que passa a la Terra, per\u00f2, la Lluna, t\u00e9 una atmosfera tan t\u00e8nue, que a efectes pr\u00e0ctics es considera que no t\u00e9 atmosfera. Per aix\u00f2, els meteorits poden xocar contra la seva superf\u00edcie sense problemes. Per aquesta ra\u00f3, la superf\u00edcie de la Lluna est\u00e0 recoberta per una quantitat enorme de cr\u00e0ters. N\u2019hi ha de mides molt diferents. Els m\u00e9s petits s\u2019anomenen micro-meteorits, i s\u00f3n tan petits que no es poden veure a simple vista. A m\u00e9s a m\u00e9s, dins dels cr\u00e0ters lunars, hi ha cr\u00e0ters encara m\u00e9s petits, i aix\u00ed successivament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A part dels cr\u00e0ters petits, n\u2019hi ha de molt m\u00e9s grans. La conca del Pol Sud-Aitken (SPA), \u00e9s el cr\u00e0ter d\u2019impacte conservat m\u00e9s gran de la Lluna i potser l\u2019estructura d\u2019impacte reconeguda m\u00e9s gran del sistema solar. A m\u00e9s, la conca del SPA \u00e9s una de les estructures m\u00e9s velles de la Lluna. Es creu que aquest cr\u00e0ter d\u2019impacte, de 2 500 km d\u2019amplada i uns quants quil\u00f2metres de profunditat, va ser creat per un gran asteroide que va xocar contra la Lluna fa uns 4 000 milions d\u2019anys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Encara que aquest \u00e9s el cr\u00e0ter m\u00e9s gran de la Lluna, no es pot veure des de la Terra, perqu\u00e8 est\u00e0 situat a la cara fosca de la Lluna, la qual mai \u00e9s visible des de la Terra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A la Lluna, com he dit abans, pr\u00e0cticament no hi ha atmosfera. Degut a aix\u00f2, tampoc hi pot haver vent ni pluges. Aix\u00ed doncs, com que no hi ha cap tipus d\u2019erosi\u00f3, els cr\u00e0ters no desapareixen mai.
